Getting started with Rally

Preview 0.5.0 for Windows 10/11, 64-bit.

Download and open

  1. Download the ZIP from Rally's official page.
  2. Extract the whole Rally folder to a location you can write to.
  3. Open Rally.exe. Keep the services, brand, licenses and accompanying DLL files beside it.

Connect store accounts

Open Connections. Steam uses mobile QR approval; repeat for your other Steam account. Epic and EA open your usual browser by default. Sign in there and paste the returned connection response into Rally. For EA, click Get connection response after signing in. Keep these responses private. You can choose the in-app sign-in option in Connections.

Library contains games returned by connected account catalogs, including never-installed purchases. Installed contains detected games on this PC. Choose an account to filter its collection. Rally asks before handing a game to its original launcher; switch accounts in that launcher and return to confirm.

Import your folder games

  1. Choose Add game → Import game list (CSV).
  2. Select your list. Its columns are Title, LaunchPath, Arguments, WorkingDirectory and Source. Use Other for local games. Confidence and Notes are optional.
  3. Review the list. Hover over a cell for its full text and scroll sideways for working folders and notes. Low-confidence and unavailable entries aren't selected automatically.
  4. Tick your games, then choose Add selected games. They appear under Other games. Importing identical launch settings again skips duplicates and keeps favorites.

For other folders, choose Add game → Find games in folders. Rally searches subfolders and lists individual exe/lnk/url candidates, even when games share a folder. Nothing is selected automatically in discovery. Helper programs can be shown for review. The exclusion checkbox remembers unchecked files; restore exclusions in the folder chooser.

Executables default to their own working folder, or use your supplied override. Shortcuts retain Windows shell behavior; a supplied working folder overrides the shortcut's setting. Keep patch wrappers as launch targets when needed. Unicode paths stay exact. Rally doesn't move or extract game files, or launch them during import. Missing or incompatible shared DLLs need fixing separately.

LaunchBox and emulator games

Choose your own LaunchBox root in Connections for optional XML import. Simple commands launch directly; complex entries open your installed LaunchBox. You can add an existing emulator executable with explicit game arguments, but automatic emulator profiles, disc-image discovery and archive extraction aren't included. Rally supplies no games, ROMs or emulators.

Check for updates

Rally checks quietly when opened, at most once a day. Connections provides a manual check and an automatic-check toggle. A newer release shows an Update available button. Downloads open in your browser and never install by themselves.

Update while keeping your library

  1. Download and extract the new ZIP.
  2. Close your existing Rally window.
  3. Copy the new Rally app files into your existing Rally folder, replacing old app files. Keep its data folder in place; the release ZIP doesn't contain one.
  4. Open Rally.exe again. Your library and protected account settings remain with the existing data folder.

Share the official ZIP rather than your running app folder, which contains private library and account data.

Current preview limits

Store connectors and account handoffs still need real testing with account owners. Xbox full ownership and automatic switching inside original launchers aren't implemented. Each store controls ownership, installs and updates for its games. Failed catalog syncs keep the previous catalog.
